  • 240-Hour Visa-Free Transit: Individuals from 54 eligible countries, including Russia, Brazil, the United Kingdom, the United States of America, and Canada, traveling from China to a third country (region), can enter visa-free through any of the 60 open ports in 24 provinces (autonomous regions and municipalities), and stay within the allowed areas for visa-free transit travelers for no more than 240 hours.
  • 30-Day Visa Free for Specific Countries: Citizens from countries like Australia, Austria, Belgium, Brunei, France, Germany, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, Netherlands, New Zealand, Poland, Spain, Switzerland, Denmark, Portugal, Greece, Cyprus, Slovenia, Singapore, Malaysia, United Arab Emirates, Thailand, etc.
  • 15-Day Visa-Free Policy for Cruise Ship Visitors: Travelers can partake in short excursions with an authorized travel agency for up to 15 days during a cruise along China's coastline without needing a China visa.
  • 6-Day Visa-Free for Tour Groups to Pearl River Delta: Visitors can explore cities like Guangzhou, Shenzhen, and Zhuhai from Hong Kong or Macau without a visa for 6 days or less, provided the tour is organized by a travel agency based in Hong Kong or Macau.
  • Visa-Free Access for Hainan Island: Available to most nationalities visiting Hainan Province (Sanya, Haikou, etc.) for up to 30 days.
  • Visa-Free for ASEAN Member States to Guilin: ASEAN member states can visit Guilin without a visa for a maximum of 6 days when traveling with an approved tour group.

DAY 1 Beijing Arrival

Your private guide will be ready to meet and greet you at the arrival hall. A comfortable private car with an experienced driver will transfer you directly to your hotel.The rest of the day is your own to explore Beijing.

 

DAY 2 Beijing | Discover the Forbidden City Via Our Emperor's Tour

After breakfast, visit Tian'anmen Square. Your guide will provide you with commentary about the history and architecture about the square.

Then start to enjoy the main highlight of the day - the Forbidden City. Your guide will help you explore 12 carefully-selected places in the Forbidden City. In addition to giving a background introduction on architecture, history, and art of the city, your guide will explain to you stories of 8 famous figures in the 2 dynasties and help you to trace elements of their lives here.

Ride to the old hutong area with your guide and walk through the 300-year-old hutongs. A visit to a local family, whose ancestors have lived in the hutongs for generations, offers a local perspective on history.

 

DAY 3 Beijing| The Temple of Heaven and the Great Wall at Mutianyu

In the morning, your guide and driver will take you to the Temple of Heaven – a place where emperors used to pray for a good harvest. The Park is full of life. Immerse yourself in the lives of local people – now and centuries ago – through joining in local elderly people's morning activities.

In the afternoon, hike the Great Wall at Mutianyu. In order to save time, we will arrange round-trip cable car rides to ascend and descend the Wall, instead of spending about 40 minutes climbing steps. On the Wall, you will have free time to walk around, after your guide does some introductions.

 

DAY 4 Beijing to Xi'an by High-Speed Train |The Summer Palace

In the morning, visit the Summer Palace. It is where the emperors used to retreat from the summer heat.

Your guide will show you the palace area and the lake area. The best way to do sightseeing at the Palace is by taking a dragon boat on the lake. On the way, you will have a chance to view all the beautiful palaces around the lake.

After the tour, your guide will accompany you to the railway station to ride the high-speed train to Xi'an (about 6 hours).

 
DAY 5 Xi'an |Secrets of the Terracotta Army

Discover the incredible Terracotta Army, which has guarded Emperor Qin's tomb since 210 BC. Travel back in time and put yourself in the Emperor's shoes. What was he thinking? Your guide will help you find your favorite terracotta warrior using a unique process designed by China Highlights.

After visiting the museum, you will have an opportunity to visit a typical Shaanxi cave house and to learn how to make warriors in the cave dwelling. Get to know traditional techniques used 2,000 years ago and try your hand at molding, carving, and painting.

In the afternoon, cycle or walk on the City Wall to hear the echo of history and take a bird's-eye view of the city.

 

DAY 6 Xi'an Departure | The Wild Goose Pagoda and Xi'an History Museum

The Small Wild Goose Pagoda, a Tang Dynasty Buddhist architectural gem, symbolizes the integration of Buddhism into Han Chinese culture. Visitors can ring the bell for blessings and luck.

The Anrenfang Heritage Museum, situated in the former Anrenfang District from the Tang Dynasty, showcases local traditions and historical events.

In the afternoon, your guide will accompany you to the train station or to the airport, for your departure.

Day 1 Arrival in Beijing

Day 4 Beijing to Xi'an by High-Speed Train |The Summer Palace

Be amazed by the imperial garden at the Summer Palace. It was originally the imperial court's summer retreat, and still makes a nice place to escape the heat of summer.

Get ready to race towards Xi'an on a high-speed train, which is a good way to experience the technological development of China.

 
Day 5 Xi'an | The Terracotta Warriors and a Traditional Cave Dwelling

In the morning, uncover the mysteries of an underground army that dates back to 206 BC at the Terracotta Army Museum. Then discover a local craftsman's cave dwelling and learn how to make a mini terracotta warrior.

Return to the city area and visit the Ancient City Wall, which has been guarding the inner city for 600 years. Walking along the wall provides a good view of the city. You can also rent a bike to cycle around the wall.

 
Day 6 Xi'an to Shanghai by Flight | Xi'an City Highlights

Discover more of Xi'an and China's ancient history at Xi'an History Museum and Little Wild Goose Pagoda, then head to the Muslim Quarter and wander through the alleys to taste the local Muslim cuisine.

In the afternoon, we'll take you to the airport for your flight to Shanghai. Your Shanghai guide will meet you and escort you to your hotel, where you can have a good rest.

 
Day 7 Shanghai | The Bund and Shanghai Tower
