Day 1 Shanghai Arrival
Your private guide will be waiting for you in the airport arrivals hall. A comfortable vehicle (non-smoking) with an experienced driver will be ready to escort your group to explore Shanghai.
Zhujiajiao is a charming water town that offers a glimpse into traditional Chinese water village life. The town's network of canals, ancient bridges, and well-preserved architecture create a stunning backdrop.
Your tour guide will lead you to three typical attractions. The first site is Chenghuang Temple, which is dedicated to the city god. Next, walk to the Helong Gallery which showcases a wide range of traditional Chinese artwork. Take a leisurely break at a traditional tea house for fragrant Chinese tea and snacks. Then, visit the Kezhi Garden, a classical Chinese garden that offers a peaceful retreat.
Conclude the day with Tianzi Fang, a vibrant district known for its trendy shops, art galleries, and cafes.
Begin your journey in Shanghai by strolling along the iconic Bund, listening to tales of the city's colonial past as you admire the historic buildings lining the waterfront. Next, escape the urban bustle at Yuyuan Garden, a serene oasis of traditional Chinese architecture and lush greenery.
For a truly breathtaking experience, ascend to the top of Shanghai Tower, the tallest building in China. Enjoy panoramic views of the city's sprawling skyline before embarking on your evening flight to Zhangjiajie. Your guide and driver will ensure a smooth transfer to the airport.
The first day in Zhangjiajie is heading to Zhangjiajie National Forest Park. Wander through a surreal landscape of towering sandstone pillars, their jagged peaks piercing the sky. Hike to the iconic Avatar Hallelujah Mountains. Ascend towering peaks and traverse narrow ridges to witness the majestic beauty of natural formations.
Your ticket includes the Bailong sightseeing elevator and Tianzi Shan cable car. You will take the world's tallest outdoor elevator to reach the top of the park. The Tianzishan cable car takes you to pass over the park's towering sandstone pillars and lush forests.
The Zhangjiajie Grand Canyon is renowned for its majestic landscape, featuring towering mountains, winding streams, mysterious caves, breathtaking cliffs, and lush forests. A highlight of the canyon is the world-famous glass bridge, a daring structure that stretches 430 meters long and 300 meters high above the canyon.
As you step onto the glass bridge, you'll be immediately captivated by the stunning canyon scenery. The transparent glass floor will likely send shivers down your spine. For timid travelers, the experience might be a bit daunting, with a strong urge to cling to the guardrails or simply close eyes and take a leap of faith.
As dusk falls, you will venture to the 72 Wonder Tower, an ancient and neon-lit city that never sleeps. An old legend gives rise to the towering 109-meter stilt building. The pavilion before you echoes the distant Tianmen Cave, standing as two colossal guardian gods.
You'll visit Tianmen Mountain, the crown jewel of Zhangjiajie, in the morning. As the highest peak in the region, the mountain offers a thrilling adventure with stunning vistas here.
Furong Town is located 80 km from Zhangjiajie. Its unique charm lies in its status as a hanging ancient town built upon a waterfall.
Divided by the cascading water, one side of the town features a row of Tujia Stilt houses. On the opposite side, the Yuwang Palace stands majestically. The cliffs surrounding the town are adorned with vibrant green vines, cascading down like a woman's flowing hair.
Your guide and driver will take you to the next destination, Fenghuang Ancient Town, for accommodation.
Fenghuang Ancient Town boasts a history dating back centuries, evident in its well-preserved ancient architecture and vibrant ethnic minority cultures. The city's picturesque location along the Tuo River is surrounded by lush mountains. Your guide will lead you on a tour of local attractions, such as the Hongqiao Art Building, the Wanshou Palace, and the Chongde Hall.
When the sun sets, the town comes alive with a vibrant nightlife scene. Enjoy the energy as live music fills the air, bars buzz with activity, and a different side of the town emerges.
Your tour concludes in Changsha, the provincial city of Hunan. You'll take a 2-hour high-speed train ride from Fenghuang to Changsha, where you'll board your international flight home.
